I've only been running FreeBSD for a couple of weeks now, so I'm afraid I
don't know too much about it yet. I'm pretty impressed with it so far
and I wanted to have a page devoted to it, mainly so people can help me
learn more about it, too. For now I just have a few links. When this page is complete, it will include FreeBSD links and other resources,
so come back soon. Here are a few to start you off:
The official FreeBSD site. You can find many FreeBSD resources here including the Handbook and FAQ. (Links provided below) The FreeBSD Handbook The FreeBSD FAQ The FreeBSD Diary is a good resource with lots of info on installing and setting up FreeBSD with different services and packages. FreeBSD Rocks is a Slashdottish page focused on FreeBSD related news and resources. FreeBSD Support, as offered by the Bay Area FreeBSD Users Group. The FreeBSD User's Guide is a great place to start if you are totally new to FreeBSD or Unix, or just use it as a reference. First Aid Kit for newbies is a small page that might help you if you get stuck. The PicoBSD page is dedicated to information on FreeBSD in small and unusual places, such as a single floppy. FreeBSDzine.org -- Good information articles relating to FreeBSD. Issue #4 helped me set up my PnP sound card. Search on FreeBSD.org Installation for Newbies Daemon News -- a Great resource for all flavors of BSD. System Admin Manager -- FreeBSD SAM looks to be a powerful tool for system admininstrators. Wow! A whole book, The Comprehensive Guide to FreeBSD. FreeBSD Mall You can find FreeBSD at Walnut Creek CDROM Get FreeBSD How-to's for the Lazy and Hopeless here. The History of the BSD Daemon and info about T-Shirt ordering. Other *BSD links include OpenBSD and NetBSD. OpenBSD focuses more on security while NetBSD focuses on Multi-Platform support.
